MOVING FORWARD WITH SENSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Every challenge facing our city today, no matter how daunting,
presents an opportunity for a creative, positive outcome that is
genuinely in the public interest. Given the enormous human
talents available, there's no reason we can't find common
ground to solve our current challenges as we prepare for the
future.
ECONOMIC STABILITY AND GROWTH
Enhance our quality of life by sustaining and improving our
commonly-held infrastructure (education, public health and
human services, parks and recreation, public safety, and city
streets), which will help attract and keep businesses with
good-paying jobs.
Protect the Urban Growth Boundary and preserve farms,
wetlands, forests, and natural open space.
Encourage sensible commercial, industrial, and residential
infill and cost-effective public transportation improvements.
Protect the environment, air and water, and neighborhood
livability.
OPEN AND TRANSPARENT CITY GOVERNMENT
More informed citizen involvement in decision making.
Establish a truly independent City Auditor for efficient and
accountable service provision.
REVITALIZED DOWNTOWN
I will work denser housing downtown, redevelopment of the
pits, the creation of a Library Park, as well as restoration of the
Centre Court and Washburn buildings within our current budget
constraints.
I WILL actively seek advice and information across political lines
to aid in decision making.
I WILL be a voice for the vulnerable and the under-represented,
including small businesses whose concerns have often been
ignored in favor of powerful special interests.
I WILL always remember that I am an elected public servant and
that trust must be earned.
