Our Community, Our Perspective
As a lifelong Clackamas County resident, I am passionate about seeing our community thrive. But too often career politicians in Salem spend so much time playing politics that they can't do the people's work. We need new blood in the Capitol dedicated to the voters, not the special interests and the big lobbies. That's why I'm running – to make sure our community finally has a State Representative who sees things from OUR PERSPECTIVE.
Putting Kids First
- Increase education spending so all kids get a full school year
- Eliminate the corporate kicker and funnel revenue into reducing class sizes
- Protect our kids from sexual predators
- Ensure all children have access to insurance and quality healthcare
Protecting and Supporting Working Families
- Rein in predatory lenders who charge 500% interest
- Add 50 state police to combat meth and ID theft crimes
- Increase the "$10 Corporate Minimum Tax" to ensure huge corporations pay their fair share
- Establish public hearings for approval of health insurance company rate hikes
Making Salem Smarter and More Accountable
- Give state agencies monetary incentives to find savings in their budgets
- Fund, not cut, performance audits
- Revisit campaign finance reform to curtail the power of the special interests and big lobbies
"We need more people like Mike in Salem so that we can move
forward towards a better future for Oregon's families."
– Congressman Les AuCoin (Ret.)
