IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE. It's time to make Oregon's House of Representatives work for you instead of political bosses and lobbyists. It's time voters in House District 26 had a representative exercising his own judgment and not obedient to big lobby interests.
I am a Democrat because the Democratic Party cares about people and does so responsibly and with compassion. Therefore:
I will fight for economic relief for working people: tax reductions for individuals, refund of taxes collected by utilities but not paid to government, and changes in tax rules for stock corporations so they pay their fair share and create a better Oregon economy.
I will fight for justice on a broad range of subjects: adequate funding and sensible solutions for education and health care problems; civil rights laws applicable to all Oregonians on the same terms; laws to control predatory businesses like payday lenders and other price gougers; and separation of drunk drivers from their cars.
I will fight to create new jobs: new transportation and highway initiatives (including a "Northwest Passage" highway from Wilsonville to Scappoose); and promoting alternate energy, stem cell research, and other new technologies.
Oregon must move beyond the irresponsible recent history of Oregon's House of Representatives. The current Republican bosses and lobbyists have deliberately derailed a responsible education budget, an effective health care system, adequate police protection, responsible protection for working men and women, and progress in many other areas.
Help Oregon return to the responsible tradition of Tom McCall when legislators worked together for the benefit of all Oregonians!
