As a newcomer on the political scene, I believe I can give a fresh perspective to many entrenched subjects.
Public Safety: The first job of government is Public Safety. A State Police force is essential to ensure the safety of rural areas. The court system and jails must be able to process and incarcerate criminals adequately.
Schools: I have special insight due to my recent experience in public schools. More of the money we spend must be in the classroom. Increased local control is critical for the education needs of our students. Science and Math need to be reemphasized if we want to get ahead and stay ahead in a global economy.
Taxes: Never to be raised without consent of the voters. The government should live within its means. New programs should not be added without cutting old ones.
Other Areas of Concern:
The Boundary Commission should be reviewed; no forced annexation.
We embrace and encourage legal immigration; however, illegal aliens cannot be tolerated. I would first work on implementing the Real ID Act enacted by the Federal Government.
The funding of nonessential services needs to be reviewed, especially to see if the private sector could do a better job.
I promise to listen to my constituents and be responsive. You can always hold me accountable for my actions.
