Taxes

I believe the State of Oregon has adequate resources; and the people want our state government to live within its means. My opponent believes the only solution to our state's problems is to increase taxes without a successful budget plan, and throw our hard-earned money away.

Raising taxes is not the answer. I believe in honoring the will of the people who have continually voted down tax increases.

Schools

I believe we can improve our school system by requiring accountability and fiscal responsibility. Reorganizing the way we spend government money is critical. Adding more money to a system which doesn't work is not the answer. We need a representative with a different vision. I can make a difference, and with your vote, together we can make our schools great again.

Law Enforcement

Public Safety and Law enforcement must have a higher priority. We have the lowest number of police officers per capita in the nation. Our jails are forced into a "revolving door" policy where some people that are arrested are right back on the street before for they see the inside of a cell. Oregon needs to adequately fund our public safety system, so that we can keep habitual criminals off of the street, making our communities safer. We need more police officers on patrol to combat the rising crime rates, especially the manufacture and sale of illegal drugs.
