We need change. There was a time when we had good schools, good paying jobs, and people could afford to pay for medicine and doctor visits, but not anymore. We should take care of these problems. I can do that. We need steady funding for law enforcement and schools, but not from working people who pay too much. Instead, we should get rid of the corporate "kicker" and bring the $10 minimum corporate tax to a fair amount. That tax was set 76 years ago when gasoline was only 10¢ a gallon! These changes make sense. Corporations would still pay low rates and we could pay for important services.
"I endorse Howard Owens wholeheartedly. Over the years, he has proven that his 'special interest groups' include families, working people, students, small business owner/operators, and seniors. These are the groups he will fight for in Salem." – Peter DeFazio, Congressman, District 4
"Howard is NOT a career politician. He just wants to make a difference – and I know that he will. He is a proven pioneer in helping women earn equal pay for equal work. And he has promised, when elected, to give his entire legislative salary to scholarships for Josephine County graduates." – Nancy Yonally-Coleman (Grants Pass)
"Howard demonstrates the keen ability to listen to both sides of arguments and negotiate win-win solutions. He is a man of vision and integrity." – Gerald Reed, Retired, Rogue Community College Dean, Business and Industry Services (Grants Pass).
