It has been a privilege to represent the people living in the communities of Barlow, Beavercreek, Canby, Gladstone, North Clackamas and Oregon City in the Oregon Senate.

As your State Senator I have tried to bring our values to Salem to guide my decision making. We should be creating new opportunities not new entitlements. People should be responsible for their own actions. We also have a mutual responsibility for one another and our community's quality of life.

I believe in working across party lines. I believe in making Oregon's government and education more accessible, more affordable, and more accountable. We need:

Accessible and Accountable Education by building on my 2005 high school-college credit transfer legislation to make our K-16 education system seamless, student oriented, and with adequate and stable funding.

Affordable Basic Health Care System for all Oregonians beyond my 2003 prescription bulk purchasing legislation by emphasizing preventative medicine that covers all Oregonians so that low income working folks get the same basic health care as the poor and well to do.

Prioritized-Performance Based State Budgeting that I promised and delivered this last session needs to be strengthened and made a permanent part of our new transparent and accountable budget culture.

Job Creation and Business Expansion by improving job training, employment related day care, and infrastructure in our communities.

Oregon is a wonderful place to call home. As your State Senator, and with your help, I'll work to make it even better.
