Fighting for Our Future
Phil has worked hard to bring responsibility and accountability to Salem, fighting to ensure tax dollars provide the critical services our families need rather than lining the pockets of companies who've received special interest tax breaks while moving good jobs out of state.
Phil understands that good schools and access to quality community colleges and universities are the keys in today's economy so he's voted against over $1 billion in special interest tax breaks that will take funds from our public schools.
Quality, Affordable Health Care
Every family and business in Oregon is touched by high costs of health care and prescription drugs. That's why Phil wants to require large employers to spend at least 10% of their payroll on health care instead of passing the cost on to taxpayers and worked to protect the Oregon Health Plan, while opposing bills that would reduce health care options for women.
Strong Public Safety
Phil has been a leader for public safety. He opposed cuts to State Police, and will push for the hiring of more than 100 new officers to allow for 24 hour patrols. Phil has worked hard to give law enforcement the tools they need to keep meth off our streets and helped pass new tough laws to protect kids from sexual predators.
