TERRY BEYER: A Practical Voice for Springfield in the State Capitol
It has been my honor to work for you since 2001. While at times very trying, I have fought hard to protect your interest and make progress on priority issues. But the job is not done. I stand ready to continue the battle during the 2007 legislative session. My focus will be:
- Increasing access to affordable health care and prescription drugs for all Oregonian's.
- Working to create good jobs and strengthening Oregon's economy,
- Ensuring children get the education they need and deserve to be successful - making education funding the first budget priority - AND - insisting on proven results from educators.
I bring a practical, common sense approach to issues before the legislature. I know how hard everyone works to support their household budget. I take that same attitude to Salem, working hard to tighten the state's budget the same way your family tightens the belt every day. You deserve to know your tax dollars are spent wisely.
We have made great strides in making state government more efficient and accountable. We have revamped the retirement system, reduced state payroll, removed unnecessary regulation, eliminated wasteful spending, and even improved the efficiency of our state vehicle fleet. And that's just the start. We have a new attitude in state leadership to make government more accountable and leaner. I firmly believe citizens deserve the very best bang for their tax dollar and I aim to get it for you!
There is no greater honor than being chosen by you as your Representative. I humbly thank you. Please call on me at any time.
