Our Community, Our Perspective
As a lifelong Clackamas County resident, I am passionate about seeing our community thrive. For this to happen, our elected representatives must see things from OUR PERSPECTIVE and take actions based upon what's best for our community.
But too often, the politicians spend their time playing political games. I'm running to make sure that our community finally has a representative who sees things from OUR PERSPECTIVE.
Here are my priorities:
Stable Education Funding
Our children need increased support so that they can meet and exceed current educational standards. A Rainy Day Fund will stabilize school funding over the long haul. Reducing school health insurance costs will enable us to put the savings into the classroom, where it does the most good.
Affordable Health Care
I know the importance of health insurance you can rely on. My daughter was born two years ago, three months early and weighing only 14 ounces. Without affordable health coverage, our family couldn't have made it through her four months of hospitalization.
To keep families from situations like ours, the Legislature should require the big insurance companies to hold public hearings and get Insurance Commissioner approval before they raise rates again.
Create More Good-Paying Jobs
We have to expand the number of good-paying jobs in our community. Training opportunities for employers and employees, support for small business owners and cutting unnecessary red tape are crucial to improving our economy.
Let's work together so that the politicians finally see things from.
