I believe that the Democratic Party cares about people and does so responsibly and with compassion. Therefore:

I will fight for economic relief for families and individuals, including (1) tax reductions for individual taxpayers through a "Family Tax Relief Act," (2) refund to ratepayers of tax money collected from them by utilities but not paid to Oregon, and (3) a completely new and different mode of taxation of business entities so they can pay their fair share.

I will fight for social justice on a broad range of subjects including civil rights and adequate funding for education and health care.

I will fight for creation of new jobs. In particular, (1) I will work hard for new transportation and highway initiatives (including a "Northwest Passage" highway from Wilsonville to Scappoose), and (2) I will provide leadership in development and use of alternative energy options and other new technologies.

I will fight for control of predatory businesses such as "pay day loan" companies.

I am running so that this state can move beyond the train wreck that is the history of the Oregon House of Representatives over the past several sessions. The current Republican leadership engineered that train wreck and they deliberately derailed a responsible education budget, an effective health care budget, adequate funding for necessary police protection for the people of Oregon, responsible protection for working families, and a whole host of other areas.

We can do better than that!
