"We need local leaders in Salem who will put
people before partisan politics."
A PROVEN, INDEPENDENT LEADER WE CAN TRUST
Jean Cowan has spent 20 years working for her communities - as Mayor of Elgin; and Lincoln County Commissioner for the past 12 years. She is a compassionate, bipartisan leader who listens and works hard to get results. In Salem, Jean will use her experience on the local level to stop the legislature from playing politics with our kids' futures.
OREGONIANS DESERVE MORE
Jean Cowan has always worked to protect valuable services like education, public transit, and healthcare access. Jean understands the challenges schools face in our district, and will work to give our schools the resources and stability they need. She will fight cuts in the Oregon Health Plan, and work to expand the Oregon Prescription Plan. She will work for a fairer tax system by taking the burden off working families and eliminating loopholes that benefit big corporations.
ALWAYS THERE FOR HER NEIGHBORS
Jean Cowan has always believed that public service starts with community service. That's why she revitalized a volunteer ambulance service and restarted her local medical clinic. As Commissioner, Jean helped lead the battle to protect Lincoln County from meth and take repeat drunk drivers off the road.
PROTECTING OUR ECONOMY AND DEVELOPING GOOD JOBS
In Salem, Jean will work to create more jobs for the Central Oregon Coast. She knows we must protect our quality of life, while supporting our existing employers and small businesses and encouraging the growth and development of new family-wage jobs with good benefits.
