Dear Neighbor:
As your State Senator I have worked hard to be worthy of the trust placed in me. As one of the Senate's leading budget writers, particularly in education, I restored funding to Head Start, successfully fought to improve school funding, stopped the decline in funding for our community colleges, improved funding for higher education, stopped double digit increases in university tuition, fully funded student assistance and gained approval for the most ambitious capital improvement program in state history.

There is much that we can do for Oregon and our community. I am asking for your support. Together we will:

  • Improve and stabilize funding for our schools, while ensuring that funding is focused on the classroom.
  • Strengthen our economy, by creating a business environment that supports job creation and retention and by making a sustained investment in our Community Colleges and Universities.
  • Effectively address issues that are important to people such as traffic congestion, the livability of our neighborhoods, the rising cost of healthcare, the safety of law-abiding citizens and ensuring that the needs of Oregon's most vulnerable citizens are not neglected.
  • Pursuing a bi-partisan agenda that unites Oregonians and respects the values and needs of all citizens.
