EDUCATION
Jackie vigorously backed increased K-12 and higher education funding.

CONSUMER PROTECTION
Jackie fought to stop exploitive payday lending practices, pushed for stronger protections against identity theft, and sponsored a bill to increase protections for victims of domestic violence.
HEALTH CARE
Jackie sponsored a bill that requires health insurers to provide equal coverage for mental health and chemical dependency treatments as for other medical care. She advocated for lower prescription drug costs for low-income seniors.
ENVIRONMENT
Jackie was chief sponsor and advocate for bills promoting energy independence and renewable fuels. She passed a law creating minimum efficiency standards for appliances that will reduce energy costs and save Oregon households and businesses $253 million by the year 2020.
