KEEPING HIS PROMISE OF INDEPENDENT LEADERSHIP
As our legislator, Brad kept his promise to make our schools his top priority:
- Sponsored legislation to guarantee adequate school funding and help reduce class size
- Passed a new law to assist low-income parents in returning to school to learn vital workforce skills
- Made sure public schools give our children a well-rounded education including the basics plus citizenship, music and history
STRENGTHENING OUR ECONOMY
As a small business owner, Brad understands what tough economic times can
mean for families. Thats why Brad kept his promise
to promote economic growth and create jobs:
- Passed a law requiring the state to invest in homegrown Oregon businesses more often
- Extended unemployment benefits to laid-off workers during the recession
- Voted to invest in road improvements creating thousands of good-paying jobs and making Oregon more attractive to new businesses
PROTECTING OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY
As a father of two young children, Brad is deeply
concerned about neighborhood safety and good health. So he did something
about it:
- Sponsored a bill to crack down on mercury pollution in our air and water
- Supported womens heath, requiring insurance companies to cover mastectomy-related services
- Passed a law to permanently revoke the drivers licenses of three-time drunk driving convicts
SUPPORTING SENIORS
Brad pledged to fight for seniors, and as
our representative, he:
- Worked to give more seniors access to prescription drugs
- Tripled penalties for those who abuse the elderly
