Buck Democrat

Occupation:Executive Director, Oregon School Personnel Association; Faculty, Lewis and Clark College.

Occupational Background:Assistant Superintendent & Human Resources Director – Gresham/Barlow School District--25 years administrative experience.

Educational Background:Doctoral Program, Portland State University; Master’s, Central Washington University; Bachelor’s, Gonzaga University.

Prior Governmental Experience:City Councilor and Budget Committee Chair – Estacada.

Jim Buck – A recognized Gresham leader:

• Led the team to create the Center for Advanced Learning.
• Initiated and implemented a model Safe Schools program for Gresham-Barlow schools.
• Spearheaded Gresham’s SUN School program to bring county resources to east county.
• Advocated for fair funding of Gresham programs at county budget hearings.

Jim Buck – In tune with East Multnomah County
Jim knows the value of a dollar and providing government services within tight budgets. Oregon needs smarter, not more expensive solutions to create jobs, increase accountability and strengthen our schools.

Jim chairs the East County Caring Committee, is on the Board of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon Jim volunteers with Nature Conservancy, local schools, Red Cross and St. Vincent de Paul.

Jim understands that a good education system is critical to increasing employment opportunities and making adults less dependent on government services. Jim knows that Oregon legislators must cease their partisan bickering and work collaboratively.
