Over 45 years on the job has taught me what it’s like to work under laws
and regulations that were written by Legislators whose focus is on profits rather
than on principles.
Legislation should help Oregonians.
- Tax law should encourage business’ to remain in Oregon, not reward
them for sending our jobs to Mexico and China.
- Unfair legislation decreases the tax burden of the wealthy and increases
it for business owners and working families.
- Safety and Health rules should put safety ahead of dividends.
Cronk will fight the pharmaceutical lobbyists.
Apparently the thousands of dollars drug companies
lobbyists lavished on legislators has paid off.
Did our business owners get any legislation
that would help them form prescription drug purchasing pools? Did the state
get the go-ahead to force the drug companies to negotiate lower prices? Did
the Legislature encourage Oregon to join other states in forcing pharmaceutical
companies to deal with the states’ combined buying power? No, no, and
no.
We will never have the low drug prices the
rest of the world enjoys as long as our legislators kowtow to the drug companies;
we will continue to pay too much as long as we elect legislators who accept
money from the pharmaceutical industry.
