As a U.S. Congressman John Sweeney will pursue these reforms for you:
TAX REFORM, FLAT RATE:A 10% on wages, salaries and commissions;
1% on all other personal income (return on investment, stocks and bonds);
1% on all Businesses.
No exemptions, no deductions, just a low flat rate, that would be fairest
to us all!
SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT AT AGE 60:Lowering the retirement age to 60, would
do three things:
Make room for the young- they need the jobs.
Create jobs-those who retire could start businesses or just travel. Both options
would create jobs. It would give America a younger work force to be more competitive
in the World Market Place. Congress talks of raising the retirement age. They
have already done it- starting the year 2000, those born after the year 1937,
will have to work longer for full benefits. They are now talking about raising
it to age 70, for those born after 1969. We must stop the “Age Creep”
to match the retirement ages of some countries in Europe, 70 or 75!
TERRORISM:We must fight terrorism wherever it is. But, We must not surrender
our civil liberties in the process. We must protect our civil Liberties at
all costs!
