Martin Birnbaum has been a resident of Oregon since
1963, after serving honorably in the United States Army. He and his wife Linda,
a retired La Grande school teacher and native Oregonian, have been married
for 29 years. He has two adult daughters and four grandchildren.
Martin Birnbaum has earned the reputation as a prosecutor
whos tough on crime, but fair, and who believes victims have rights
that should be honored. Principled and ethical, he brings important integrity
to the office of district attorney. He is an experienced trial attorney and
no-nonsense administrator who has proven himself in both the private and public
arenas.
Martin Birnbaum is committed to serving all the
citizens of Union County. Efficient with tax dollars, Martin Birnbaum reduced
the staffing of the District Attorneys Office by two full positions
while at the same time maintaining quality services designed to meet the needs
of Union County.
Martin Birnbaum is a small farmer and an outdoorsman.
He is also a committed community volunteer who meets the needs of Union County
both in his private life and in his position as District Attorney.
