MARK HUDDLESTON HAS THE EXPERIENCE
Mark has dedicated himself exclusively to criminal prosecution since 1980.
He served as the countys first deputy district attorney assigned exclusively
to cases of child abuse. He has personally prosecuted numerous jury trials,
from misdemeanors to aggravated murder. Mark supervises an office of 38 employees,
including 15 attorneys.
MARK HUDDLESTON IS A PROVEN LEADER
Mark has earned the respect of his colleagues in the criminal justice system.
He is a past chair of the countys drug enforcement task force and was
the first president of the local Public Safety Coordinating Council. Retired
Medford police chief Ray Shipley and numerous other current and retired law
enforcement officers endorse Mark.
Since first elected District Attorney in 1992, Mark has instituted innovative
programs that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice
system. Violation treatment for some first-time misdemeanor offenders saves
taxpayers the expense of court-appointed attorneys and jury trials, while
allowing prosecutors to concentrate on more serious cases. The District Attorneys
Domestic Violence Response Team works with local police and victims of domestic
assault to hold batterers accountable for their crimes. Mark played a pivotal
role in the creation of the Childrens Advocacy Center and is a past
Board president.
