Judge Nelson has had the privilege of serving as
a District and Circuit Court Judge for Clatsop County for the past twelve
years. The voters of Clatsop County are asked to consider electing him for
another six-year term.
When Judge Nelson first ran for the position which
he currently holds, he said he would try to bring experience, a sense of hard
work and fairness to the court. He has done so, and will continue to do so
if elected for another term. Clatsop County has a high case load per judge
which results in being one of the busiest courts in the state, but Judge Nelson
is committed to having cases heard in a timely manner. He decides each case
on its own merits and will continue to be fair and consistent on cases that
come before him.
In addition, Judge Nelson has continued to be involved
in the community. He is an active member of First Lutheran Church, Warrenton
Rotary, Scandinavian Festival and the Christmas Food Basket Program. He has
also volunteered to serve with various civic and charitable committees, school
functions and in the past has coached several boys and girls softball and
basketball teams.
