Dear Oregonian:
These historic times of change require steady leadership. I have
an optimistic vision and agenda that will move America forward
toward greater prosperity, greater security, greater freedom and
greater compassion.
Come November, voters are going to have a very clear choice.
It’s a choice between keeping the tax relief that is moving this
economy forward – or putting the burden of higher taxes back
on the American people.
It’s a choice between an America that leads the world with
strength and confidence – or an America that is uncertain in the
face of danger.
It’s a choice between two visions of government: a government
that encourages ownership and opportunity and responsibility – or a government that takes your money and makes your
choices.
In a post 9-11 world, we as Americans understand how great
events affect a nation and our world. Great events will turn on
this election. Our next President will set the course of the war
on terror and the direction of our economy. The security and
prosperity of America are at stake.
Unlike my opponent, I will leave no doubt where I stand on the
nation’s priorities. I continue to take on the big issues with
strength, resolve, and determination – and I stand ready with a
positive agenda to lead our nation for another four years.
Sincerely,
George W. Bush
