SHIRLEY WHITEHEAD FREEMANs CAMPAIGN STATEMENT:
I would like to devote my time and energies to making positive constructive
changes to the Oregon System. Oregonians are again hard hit by
national and international politics. Money pumped into government programs
are not getting to the grass roots. Our childrens education is being
questioned, people are being murdered in the streets both here and abroad,
hospitals are closing. We need maximum efficiencies in state-government programs.
My progressive thinking and abilities are needed in the Oregon Legislature.
The State can, with legislation, ease this picture considerably.
I continue to have an enthusiasm for universal health care.
I believe in and support home care as an alternative to institutional
care for the elderly and infirm. Government needs to deliver good value.
We need far-reaching prioritization of programs to assist people in maintaining
suitable lifestyles.
