Occupational Background: I served as a chaplain on a US Missile base abroad. During my College and Graduate studies, I worked as a gardener, house painter, and custodian to support my family. In 1973, my wife, Grace and I owned a Mom & Pop grocery store and sold real estate before starting ARJ Co., distributing natural health and beauty products.

I will continue working to better fund education, reduce class overcrowding and make schools a safer place. Solid education now means better jobs and less money spent on prisons.
On the Economy:
Unemployment in Oregon is the highest in the country, I will work to overhaul the tax system. We need big companies to stimulate the economy, but I will also continue to support small and medium businesses, International trade and Tourism to create family wage jobs.
On the Environment:
A clean environment is a win-win situation, we need to sustain our environment for our next generations to inherit intact.
John works closely with the cities, counties and constituents of East Multnomah County. He has the rare quality to combine experience in the business and legislature.
