Friends,
There are a lot of challenges ahead for us all in the next few years. Our state is business unfriendly, marriages and families are under attack, and an education system that is teaching tomorrows leaders is about to fall off a cliff if we don’t get things under control financially. THERE IS HOPE! Through prioritization, State Government can live with the funds it already has. Any increase in revenue can come from an improving economy, NOT higher taxes. State Government will have to be EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, and ACCOUNTABLE.
As Vice-Chair of the Silver Falls School Board, I have taken great pride in the job we have done for our kids. Funding for schools has consistently gone down, yet our test scores are some of the highest in the state. Administration costs for our District are one of the lowest in the state, and yet our drop out rate is lower than it has been in years. We have had to make a lot of tough decisions, but the reward is seeing things get done instead of making excuses.
I will take this forward way of thinking to Salem. -
- Its time to get the most out of our tax dollar.
- Its time to streamline Government.
- Its time to prioritize, so our kids are not held hostage
every time there is a tax increase. - Its time to make the difficult decisions and demonstrate leadership at the State level.
