Chairman House General Government Committee; Chairman House Judiciary Committee, Klamath County Deputy District Attorney, Klamath County District Judge County Hearings Officer; Klamath County School District and Klamath County Health Boards.
Del and his wife JoAnne have 4 grown children and 10 grandchildren all basin residents. Their farm 12 acres in 1970 has grown to an operation of over 1600 acres. A former attorney, Del now works with his sons, Tim and Ed in the family business. His son, Matt, is an attorney in Klamath Falls while his daughter, Denise, is a teacher at Merrill where all the Parks kids graduated and the grandkids now attend. Lots of the candidates talk about “family” Del and JoAnne live it.
DEL PARKS IS A FIGHTER; as your state legislator he fought to change the school funding formula to make it fairer to Klamath and the result was an additional 1 Million each year for Klamath schools and funds to get the buses running againDEL PARKS IS ONE OF US; His home and all his economic interests are in the Basin. Just like you, he lives, works, and votes here if he ever decides to retire it will be here in Klamath County.
DEL PARKS IS A BELIEVER; He believes legislators dedicated to stopping petty partisan bickering can solve Oregon’s Budget Problems. It’s going to take a combination of standing up to bureaucrats to 1. consolidate, eliminate, and reform state government, 2. form partnerships with nongovernmental agencies to provide essential services formerly performed by government but at a fraction of the cost 3. an aggressive incentive program helping small business to “grow” jobs.
