Jobs & Economy
Al Pearn knows how hard coastal communities have been hit by the recession and Oregon’s economic woes. He also knows government can help by: Removing barriers to job creation by small businesses, stimulating economic growth and bringing jobs back to the coast.
Limiting Taxes and Government Spending
Just like Oregon’s citizens, state government needs to hold the line on spending when times are tough. Al Pearn understands that limiting government spending and taxes on Oregonians puts more money in their pockets for the things they need. Al Pearn wants state government to be more accountable with dollars they receive.
Education for Our Children
Al Pearn believes that our state’s future is tied to the quality of our educational system. Whether it’s K-12 or our colleges and universities, we need to make education a priority and fund it responsibly. Our children’s education is too important to be a bargaining chip when budgets are tight.
Natural Resources and Agriculture
Al Pearn knows that natural resource issues on the coast are unique and need to be treated as such. You can’t understand those issues unless you live here and know the people and the land. Al believes in responsible resource management and thinks that policy should be based on sound science, not political expediency.
