Occupational Background: Law enforcement

As a public official, I have always believed the best interests of the public must be placed first and foremost by those appointed or elected to serve them. No public official can be allowed to use his/her position for personal gain, self-promotion or for their own special-interest missions.
What I believe in and will stand for
- Government’s primary function is to protect its people and
their property.
- Public safety, education and other essential services are my
top priority.
These items should be the first things budgeted out of the general fund, before any special-interest projects. Measure 30 was simply bad legislation.
- I am pro-life.
- Oregon has become a state with one of the highest property
crime rates in the nation. We must get tougher on crime and
send a clear message to criminals to either change their
ways, or to get out of Oregon.
- The welfare system must be reworked. These programs were designed for the truly needy, not for those who choose not to work, nor contribute to society.
Mission Statement
Oregon needs solid and committed leadership in the Legislature. We don’t need empty promises from politicians who have their own agendas in mind, instead of what is best for Oregon. We need leaders who will stand up for what is right for Oregonians and listen to them when it comes to running our state. If I am elected as the State Representative for District 23, I will do exactly that. I am committed to continuing to serve the people of Oregon to the best of my ability. For more info, go to: http://WelshForOregon.org
