Giving Families The Tools They Need To Get Ahead
When families can save - investing in real estate, creating a
stock portfolio or paying down debt - they are stronger. We can
help families get ahead by keeping an eye on the ball. Reducing
the cost of health care is one way. College savings plans are
another. My job is to help Oregon's working families get ahead.
-- Mark Hass
A Champion For Vets
In the recently concluded 2008 Legislative session, Senator Hass was the key proponent of a measure that provides a free college education to an Oregon University for widows and orphans whose spouse or parent died on active duty after Sept. 11, 2001.
"Senator Hass stood up for veterans when it counted. He quietly
did the heavy lifting for this new law that will dramatically
change lives of war orphans and widows for the better."
-- Robert Thornhill, Submariner EN2(SS) (Korean War)
Clean Air, Clean Water
Mark grew up hiking, biking and fishing in Oregon's mountains and streams. He values an Oregon of clean air and clean water. That's why he led the charge toward cleaning up the Willamette River and is working on environmental cleanup legislation for the 2009 session.
"Oregon needs leaders who look past the election and into the
future where our grandchildren and their children will live.
Mark Hass is one of those leaders."
-- Gov. John Kitzhaber
Oregon Governor 1995-2003
