Greg Steiert will work to make state government more accountable for your tax dollars. He will support creating a Legislative Audits Office to monitor government performance and increase efficiency.

Holding the Line on Taxes and Spending
Greg Steiert believes Oregonians already pay enough in taxes and fees, and will oppose tax increases that strain the pocketbooks of local families. Last year, new government spending increased by 20 percent. The current Legislature raised taxes and fees by over $600 million and increased government debt by over $900 million. Spending is out of control and Greg will offer a stronger voice for fiscal responsibility in Salem.

Keeping Our Communities Safe
Greg Steiert will crack down on career criminals and dangerous sexual predators. Greg supports 24/7 Oregon State Police coverage to combat the importing of meth into our communities. Greg will work to end "secret deals" that allow physically and sexually abusive teachers to remain in our schools.

Growing Our Economy and Creating New Jobs
Greg Steiert will advocate for small businesses in Salem. He will reduce the excessive regulations that stifle Oregon's job growth. As an engineer in the high tech industry, Greg supports diversifying our local economy and bringing new industries into our area. He understands the need for a trained workforce and will support Oregon's universities and community colleges.

Supporting Public Education and Increasing Student Performance
Greg Steiert supports adequate funding for Oregon schools, but will ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely. To prepare Oregon students for 21st Century jobs, Greg supports mandatory performance audits of all school districts. He also supports an effective teacher development system to give teachers the tools they need to help our kids.
