Kim Thatcher, a small business owner who serves on the House Business Committee, understands businesses don’t want government “hand-outs”; they want to thrive or fail on their own without excessive regulation and taxation. Kim knows that better use of Oregon’s natural resources, through free markets and sensible regulation, will benefit our economy.

Kim Thatcher, a parent of four and a member of the House Education Committee champions academic innovation like allowing online schools as an option for families. Kim puts high priority on education funding--making sure the focus remains on educating kids rather than creating or expanding government bureaucracy.

LEADERSHIP ON GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY

Kim Thatcher, head of the Taxpayer Caucus in the Oregon House, spearheaded the new state transparency website so Oregonians can see how tax dollars are spent. The state continues to spend more money than taxpayers can provide, so Kim is pushing priority budgeting based on the Core Functions of Government.
