THE GOLI AMERI STORY

As a girl growing up in Iran, I learned about extremism in ways many politicians never will. Thirty years ago, I came to America and discovered a life I could not have dreamed of. After receiving a bachelor's and master's degree from Stanford University, I worked as an executive with U.S. Leasing before founding a high-tech consulting business.

MORE JOBS AND A PROSPEROUS FUTURE

My highest priorities as your Congresswoman will be to create more jobs with higher salaries and better benefits, make the elimination of the marriage tax penalty permanent, make the Port of Portland a world class center of trade, and provide tax credits for high-tech research and development.

STRONGER SCHOOLS

We must invest in our schools, our teachers, and our students. That means reprioritizing spending to assure public education gets the money it needs to reduce class size and improve quality. I'll work for higher standards, more discipline, and greater control for local parents.

A MORE SECURE AMERICA

I know why many Americans oppose war. No people in the world are more empathetic, kind, or generous than Americans. But we didn't choose war, the terrorists did. And if we fail to fight it where the terrorists live, our families will never know real safety again. I'll work to provide our men and women in the military the equipment and support they need – including a pay raise.

LEADERSHIP NOT PARTISANSHIP

I didn't come to America to become a Republican or a Democrat; I came here to be an American. My only consideration will be the best interests of those I'm entrusted to serve. I support re-importation of medicine to cut costs, protections for Social Security that assure its solvency, and environmental safeguards for our drinking water.
