  • With proper funding and proven curriculum (more emphasis on academics and responsibilities) our students will be equipped for a successful life. They will have the character, skills, and knowledge to compete in the global marketplace, and build strong families and be good citizens.
  • I support the Oregon Children's Charter that helps students, parents, schools, and taxpayers with better options.
  • Competition with all schools will result in better choices, and cost savings.

JOHN PEARSON on CRIME:

  • We must invest in crime prevention to protect our citizens and their property.
  • Violent criminals must be kept off the streets.
  • Proven, successful programs of rehabilitation must be encouraged.
  • Criminals must work to pay restitution to their victims, and pay for the cost of their punishment and rehabilitation.

JOHN PEARSON on JOBS:

  • We must support and encourage our resident businesses as well as attracting new diversified businesses and industries that provide family wage jobs.
  • Businesses should not be burdened with extra regulations, fees, and taxes.

JOHN PEARSON on the ENVIRONMENT:

  • We must make wise use of our renewable natural resources and preserve our natural wonders as good stewards.
  • Use sound and peer reviewed science with all concerned parties.

JOHN PEARSON on GOVERNMENT:

  • Government should provide only those critical services and needs that cannot be provided by individuals or private organizations.
