Over the past twelve years I have worked with the people of Keizer/Salem to create safer, more livable communities. It has been a privilege to work with you to make our neighborhoods safer, friendlier. But our work is not yet done.

Kids need to be held accountable for their actions, the first time they commit a crime. I support making young people who steal or vandalize face their victims and pay them back. I helped establish the Paintback program where people caught doing graffiti use recycled paint to cover their mess.

Our parents and grandparents should receive the quality care and services they deserve. I will fight to protect those services and to increase penalties for elder abuse and financial scams.

As a community leader, I have worked to make our communities safer. I will work to make it easier to shut down drug houses and end gang violence in our neighborhoods.

We need to hold schools accountable for how they spend money, making sure it is spent in classrooms. Students need to be held to high standards in order to graduate, teachers need more options for dealing with discipline problems. I will stand up to powerful special interests to make sure our kids come first.

Together we have worked for a better Salem/Keizer. Through my "grassroots" involvement with you I have honed my leadership skills - the ability to listen, to work with diverse viewpoints, to move forward.

Vote to send me to the legislature to further our effort.
