OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: Commercial Fisherman, Vessel Owner/Captain for past 30 years

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: University of Missouri; B.S. Education, Oregon State University.

PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: State Representative, 1995-1998; Vice-Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources; Member Ways & Means Natural Resources Subcommittee; Vice-Chair, House Committee on Education; Pacific Fisheries Legislative Task Force.

Community Service: Teacher's Resource Aid, Marine Fisheries Studies; Newport High Track Team Volunteer; YMCA Basketball Coach; Hatfield Marine Science Center and Oregon Coast Aquarium Volunteer; Oregon State Marine Extension Service Volunteer.

"I will continue to be a strong advocate for balancing the needs of our environment with quality, family wage jobs, applying the experience I have gained working within my own industry to develop new, better ways to manage our resources."

QUALITY EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN: Education must be our first priority. Terry will continue to fight for adequate state funding for our schools.

GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY: By applying his personal business experience to state government, Terry will continue to work to get your full value for every tax dollar.

SOLID SUPPORT FOR SENIORS: Terry will continue to insure each Senior Citizen's right to a quality life through assuring adequate health care, transportation, and community service programs.

A STRONG LOCAL ECONOMY: Terry will continue to work to secure state economic development dollars for our area to encourage new businesses and attract family wage jobs.

TRANSPORTATION: Terry will continue to fight for transportation funding to improve our roads in this district.

A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR STATE PARKS: Terry is working hard to find solutions in order to keep our State Parks open.
