ACCOUNTABILITY!

Business as usual in Salem isn't good enough any more. Outrageous treatment of citizens and inadequate oversight of how our money is spent is eroding our faith in government. When you are treated badly or your money is spent unwisely, there need to be consequences. Bill's mission will be to build more accountability into our system.

INDEPENDENCE!

Bill isn't a career politician. Bill has strong values and beliefs but is not dogmatic. Reasoned argument will always be listened to and respected by him

RESPONSIBILITY!

It takes more effort to be free than to be a ward of the state, and we used to believe it was worth it. Too many politicians still try to buy your vote with your own money by creating tax funded programs to do for you what you should be doing for yourself.. To stay free, we need to take back responsibility for our own lives, and limit the role of government.

BILL CHALLENGES OTHER CANDIDATES TO TAKE THIS PLEDGE

Since the taxpayers of Oregon send to the government money they would otherwise spend to improve the quality of their own lives, I pledge to them the following:

1. that I won't spend frivolously, what their labor has earned;

2. that I will respect the liberty of our citizens, taking no action which unnecessarily limits it;

3. that I will only support legislation that includes accountability by agents of government and those who spend appropriated funds;

4. that I will only support legislation limited to issues for which it is appropriate and constitutional;

5. that you may hold me to account for failure to adhere to these principles.

FREEDOM COMES AT TOO HIGH A COST
FOR IT TO BE SQUANDERED
VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO RESPECTS IT
