Chris Extine is a strong, independent leader

We don't a representative will fit in with the establishment in Salem, we need someone who stands up for the issues that are most important for our future. I will hold myself accountable to the voters of the 42nd district, and no one else.

Chris Extine stands for peace

As a member of the Peace Slate, I am committed to doing everything in our power to make a stand against unnecessary wars. I demand the immediate recall of all Oregon National Guard troops for Oregon Service. Prohibit the development, storage, and transport of all nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons in the state of Oregon.

Education is a priority
As a teacher, I have seen firsthand the effects of good and bad education policy. We must ensure that the students of Oregon receive a quality education that is not defined by rigid standardized tests. We need more teachers and smaller class sizes. Parents, students, and teachers are the best to judge the quality of the school, so we need to ensure that they have a voice in the running of their schools. We must encourage schools that encourage creative, innovative, and diverse instruction from their teachers.

Transportation innovation
Oregon must have a transportation system that does not rely on cheap gasoline prices. More transportation options mean a higher quality of life for everyone. I will push for more funding for mass transit and bicycle paths.

Reform Drug Policy
Drug and alcohol abuse treatment should be available on demand for all who request it. I believe we should legalize marijuana use by adults and regulate its sale.

Protect the Environment
We must protect our natural resources and promote an efficient, sustainable economy. I oppose all Liquid Natural Gas pipelines in Oregon.
